This story is about the adventures of Ethel and her quest to find a new home not crowded by all her brothers and sisters. I loved the story (as an adult) and message to the reader that sometimes when we think we want something...in reality...we are actually happy with what we have. Kids, animals, siblings, adventure, danger- all surrounded and absorbed by warm, gentle drawings that help carry Ethel along on her quest. I found Ethel's adventures outside of her hamster tank very meaningful and touching. Learning a lesson about how important family truly is in a sweet and fun way. I am a librarian at an elementary school and Ethel's NEW HOME teaches children about sharing and manners, but in a fun creative way. Kids love books about animals and the artwork really keeps their attention. It makes me want to go home and buy a hamster -Tami M Got to love this little Story book! Got to love this little Story book! I liked it from beginning to end myself ..but I really bought for my Grandkids Tristan and Tiare. They love little soft furry Critters and everything about them. These Critters come with a Great story attached ! The story is nicely told ...not too long, not too short.I am really looking forward to reading it to and with my Grandchildren.The Kids can learn some about Family and Life through this book without getting too in depth. It is nicely done that way,so the kids can learn something in a fun interesting and exciting way.Ethels New Home is just the right book to have to read to your Children or Grandchildren or for them to read it to you or to themselves over and over again.It really was a fun read. -Tom S |
